Lord of the Underground 2: Nikora

Nikora comes from a Maori tribe known for their pride in fighting. She has been known throughout all of New Zealand as a champion fighter in kickboxing, earning her money for her tribe. Recently, Nikora's tribe is suffering from inadequate funds and could be taken over by a ruthless fighting promoter. When Nikora hears of the Lord of the Underground tournament from the fight promoter, Nikora jumps at the chance to enter in the tournament and win back the money for her tribe. 

GAMEPLAY INFO:

Maori Flurry: Nikora punches the opponent six times in rapid succession.

Maori Rush: Nikora spears her opponent and elbows them relentlessly.

Taiaha Strike: She emits yellow energy as she delivers a front elbow and a back elbow to the opponent's face.

Running Slam: She hoists the opponent off the ground, running with them and slamming to the ground. 

X-Ray Move:

Samoan Rage: Nikora kicks the opponent in the face, breaking the skull and neck. She then jumps at the opponent and throws them with her legs as they land on their head. 

Fatal Blow:

For Samoa: Nikora holds the opponent up and cocks back her fist. She yells "For Samoa!" as she drives her fists through the opponent's neck and ripping out their throat.

Samoan Hammer: Nikora throws her opponent to the ground as they land face first. Nikora gets on top of the opponent and hammers away at their skull until it caves in.

ARCADE MODE:

Intro:

(We are treated to a panoramic view of the Maori countryside of New Zealand.)

Nikora (v/o): Welcome to New Zealand. It is home to the Maori tribe, the native warriors who proudly fought on the battlefields of this land. 

(We then see Nikora practicing her kickboxing on a cliff as David Dallas' Runnin' plays in the background.)

Nikora (v/o): My name is Nikora. I am a fighter like my Maori ancestors before them. I've practiced kickboxing and pancrase for many years, and I have traveled throughout New Zealand, staking my claim as one of the best fighters in my country.

(Cut to Nikora working out for about a minute. We then see Nikora running on the beach.)

Nikora (v/o): I've won many prizes, but they were all to fund my tribe. Recently, a fight promoter has taken that all away and now everything could be lost. I don't want that to happen!

(Nikora is then seen looking at a flyer for the Lord of the Underground tournament.)

Nikora (v/o): The promoter told me about the Lord of the Underground tournament. I've never heard of it, but I am certain it's a fighting tournament. If it is, I will do everything in my will to win back the money for my tribe.

Stage 4 Rival: Suchin Rama

(Scene takes place in a temple in Chiang Mai. Suchin is doing her daily training when she hears Nikora chanting as she performs her haka.)

Suchin: What are you doing?

Nikora: I'm doing the Haka, the war dance of my ancestors. 

Suchin: Interesting. Have you come here to dance or to fight?

Nikora: I've come here to fight. 

Suchin: Then you've picked the right opponent. Let's do this! 

Cutscene: 

(Nikora helps Suchin to her feet.)

Suchin: And I thought I was vicious. 

Nikora: You showed heart. I'll give you that. 

Suchin: You gotta teach me that war dance that you were doing. 

Nikora: Maybe sometime but for now, I must leave. 

Suchin: Come back soon, so we can have a rematch. 

Nikora: It would be my pleasure.

Rival Fight: Junior Fuafiva

(Scene takes place in Osiris' Underground Arena and Casino. The DJ announces the next fight.)

DJ: Okay everyone, we got ourselves a great fight tonight. All the way from New Zealand, we have tribal kick boxer Nikora. Her opponent is military pro wrestler, Junior Fuafiva. 

Junior: Damn, hot mama! I didn't know you were from New Zealand?

Nikora: Glad to see an admirer in my midst. But I must win in order to keep my tribe from losing their land. 

Junior: Well allow me to put up an honorable fight for ya, sister. 

Final Boss: Osiris

(After defeating Junior, Nikora is declared the winner.)

Nikora: You were an honorable warrior. Maybe you should visit New Zealand during next tour of duty.

(Nikora is then approached by Osiris' secretary, a slender African American female wearing a business suit and shades.)

Secretary: Excuse me miss?

Nikora: Yes?

Secretary: He's ready to see you. 

(We then see Nikora entering Osiris' office, which is now a square office with stylish blue and black interior, a liquor bar, pool table, and a new view of the New York Skyline in the background. The room is now dimly lit, but the desk where Osiris sits at is still dark, concealing him. Osiris puffs smoke before talking.)

Osiris: Now just what do you call yourself to be.

Nikora: I am a Maori warrior.

Osiris: A who?  

Nikora: Maori warrior! A tribal warrior from New Zealand.

Osiris: Why couldn't you just say that instead. Either who, you must be hear for the money.

Nikora: That is correct.

Osiris: I could give you the money, but since you're a warrior. 

(Osiris emerges from the darkness, cigar in hand.)

Osiris: I want to see you fight for it.

Nikora: Good, so then I will bring fortune to my tribe. 

Osiris: Not if I can help it.

(Osiris gets up from his seat, pushing his desk aside. He cracks his knuckles, preparing to fight.)

Osiris: Business time starts now!

Ending:

(David Dallas' So Close Now plays in the background as we see Nikora being celebrated by her tribe for bringing back a prize.)

Nikora (v/o): Everything in my tribe is at peace again. I don't have to worry about someone trying to take something from them ever again.  

(We see schools, parks, gyms, and other buildings being built.)

 Nikora (v/o): My tribe now has everything they've ever wanted because my desire to not let my people down. I wanted to secure a future for them. 

(We then see Nikora standing on the same cliff from earlier.)

Nikora (v/o): The future looks very bright for the Maori people. We are proud warriors and proud fighters. That will never change. Now until forever. May the Maori spirit flourish forever.

(The screen fades to black We then see the logo for Lord of the Underground 2 as Lord of the Underground's Chief Rocka (Jazzy Underground Remix) plays in the background. The credits roll as we see the characters in their stages.)
